Our Purpose

The Washington State Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) Health Careers Ecosystem (The Ecosystem) is a community of BIPOC leaders in King, Pierce and Spokane counties establishing racial health justice by changing the complexion of health leadership, significantly developing BIPOC healthcare student leaders and increasing the number of BIPOC health professionals in the state. Because we believe in the power of BIPOC communities to identify, unify, mobilize, and coordinate the resources we need to create equity, our focus is on organizing BIPOC professionals, community leaders and students. We envision a future in which American Indian/ Alaska Native, Black, Latinx, and Pacific Islander (identified as “under-represented minority” or URM) health sector professionals lead the elimination of racial/ethnic health inequities harming their communities.
